Sell or Swap

Canning and Clyde Roads

Saturday 15 September 2.00 - 4.00 pm

While the weather's still reasonably mild, we thought we'd hold a Sell or Swap session on Saturday 15 September in our two roads. For just two hours, 2.00 to 4.00 pm, feel free to display items you would like to sell or give away in the front garden where you live. If you would also like to wander round, you could ask a neighbour to keep an eye on your items. We thought it's not only a convenient way to get rid of things but an easy way to meet neighbours!

Items can include household goods, clothes, CDs / DVDs, crafts you have made, food you have cooked, surplus fruit, vegetable or plants from your garden or window ledge.

All we would ask is - at the end of the session please take everything out of your front garden!

If it is raining, then we will simply swap to the following day (Sunday) at the same time. If this happens, we'll come along our two roads and let you know.

Why a walkabout?
At the ‘Have your say’ event held at St Mary Magdelene Hall on Saturday 21st April neighbours came together and shared experiences of living in our area. In chatting about the many things that we like and the things that irritate us, we identified a desire to:

Meet more of our neighbours
Take action on some of our local issues (litter was one)
Promote community events more widely
See our community groups working together
This walkabout has been organised as a next step.

Addsicombe in Action is actively supported by these local community groups:
CHASE Residents’ Association
HOME Residents’ Association
Canning & Clyde Residents’ Association
Residents For Regeneration
Revitalising East Croydon Communities

We are a group of East Croydon residents and business people whose aim is to give all people in our area the opportunity to voice their views and together find ways of bringing to life what we want to see happen for our area. We appreciate the continuing cross-party support of our Addiscombe Ward Councillors and local activists.
